Los Angeles County is governed by a five-member elected Board of Supervisors who serve as the legislative, executive and administrative government body, responsible for setting policies, enacting ordinances and adopting resolutions. Through an annual budget, the Board apportions and levies taxes to ensure sound fiscal management practices, and to secure the health, safety and welfare of its citizens. Supervisors advocate for and represent the public in intergovernmental affairs, foster change, and nurture positive community relations.

The Board of Supervisors works with multiple priority issues affecting society's most vulnerable, and addresses our County’s largest challenges such as homelessness and poverty, mental health, child welfare, public safety and transportation. The Executive Office is committed to providing excellent customer service to the Board and the people we serve in an efficient and friendly way. Our culture is based on five core values: integrity, respect, innovation, collaboration and ownership. Adoption of these core values is essential to executing our strategy and ensuring a work environment that supports the Board’s commitment towards open and honest government.

The Executive Office performs a multi-functional support role for the Board in administering and managing technology, staffing, procurement and facilities resources, as well as the publication of information for the Board of Supervisors, various County departments and the public. The office also administers and oversees the Office of Inspector General and other County commissions such as the Sheriff’s Civilian Oversight Commission, Office of Child Protection, Commission on Disabilities, and the County Equity Oversight Panel.

Our new Strategic Plan for 2017-2020 provides a blueprint for our vision which will give our office guidance to achieving our future goals by leveraging excellent customer service in our efforts to support the Board of Supervisors. The plan focuses on: developing a world class workforce; creating a culture of excellence in customer service; providing innovative and effective business solutions; and performing operational systems enhancement as key elements of our strategy to focus on emerging technologies to support the mission of the Executive Office.

As we support the Board in its endeavors, we have a dedicated, exceptional team of staff members that pride themselves on taking ownership of the customer experience, and becoming the cornerstone of public service through innovative solutions and best work practices in an ever-changing environment.
