It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor’s Executive Office website.
Established in 1852, the Board of Supervisors is the governing body for the County of Los Angeles; and as the largest local government in the nation, it serves approximately 10 million residents. It is my privilege to serve as the Executive Officer for the Board of Supervisors.
The Board of Supervisors is responsible for establishing policy to guide the administrative functions of County departments and serves as the governing body of many districts, including Flood Control and Fire Protection Districts, and has created oversight/advisory boards to monitor the provision of select vital government programs and services. The Board oversees over 170 County commissions, committees, task forces, and special district agency boards and joint powers authorities, created by either State or Federal law, County ordinance, County Charter, or by action of the Board. The Executive Office is responsible for administering a variety of functions on behalf of the Board, which include: publishing the Board’s weekly agenda and Statement of Proceedings, maintaining official records (which date back to the 1850s), and providing administrative, accounting, procurement, personnel, payroll, facility management and technological services to various County commissions, committees and task forces, such as the Office of the Inspector General, the Civilian Oversight Commission, the Office of Child Protection, the Conflict of Interest/Lobbyist Registration and the Assessment Appeals Board.
This site includes streaming of live Board Meetings, podcast subscriptions (iTunes, Google Play) and a new search functionality for Board of Supervisors’ documents such as Statement of Proceedings, transcripts and supporting documents. We hope these technology enhancements and accessibility on all platforms will help you easily access the information you need and help us assist the communities we serve.
