I missed a filing deadline. How much do I owe?
To facilitate your payment process, it is recommended that you refer to the notification sent to you regarding any fees or fines you are required to submit. Late fees are calculated based on the number of days a document is late. Late fees continue to accumulate every day after the due date of a filing until a document is received. The date of receipt is contingent on the date of postmark or the date your document is hand delivered to our office. You may also refer to the Late Fee Chart. Late fees are set forth as follows:

  • $25 per day for the first ten days after the due date of a filing
  • $50 per day for the next ten days if the filing is not made within ten days after the due date
  • $75 per day thereafter until the filing is received or the date any other penalties are imposed by the Board of Supervisors or the Executive Officer (as outlined in Section 10.0 of the Lobbyist Rules)

April, May, June   July 31st

How will making a payment by credit card be a benefit over paying by check?
Paying electronically stops the delay involved with processing and mailing a check. By offering you a credit card/debit card option, you can immediately pay any lobbyist-related fees or fines. Along with the immediacy of a credit card payment, an overdue lobbyist form/report can be submitted via fax or pdf format to stay the accumulation of further late fees.

However, keep in mind that prior to submitting a facsimile or pdf version of your lobbyist form/report, you must contact us to obtain the proper fax number or email address. DO NOT submit a facsimile or pdf copy without contacting our office in advance. Submitting a facsimile or pdf copy does not exempt you from submitting the original version of your lobbyist form/report. All original documents should be submitted to our office within ten days of the date you make your payment.

If you have not already submitted your required Lobbyist disclosure documents please remember to do so. This payment does not satisfy your reporting requirements until the disclosure documents are received by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Lobbyist Section.
