Measure G

Establishing the Governance Reform Task Force

Measure G, approved by voters in November 2024, marks a pivotal moment in Los Angeles County’s governance. The reform introduces a range of significant changes aimed at increasing transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to communities, especially those that have been historically underserved. Key elements of the reform include the election of a County Executive, the creation of four new Supervisorial districts, and the establishment of an independent Ethics Commission. Additionally, the reforms introduce public budget hearings and stricter ethics regulations for County officials.

A central part of this transformation is the formation of the Governance Reform Task Force (Task Force), which will guide and oversee the implementation of these changes. The Task Force will consist of a diverse group of individuals from various sectors, including labor, business, community organizations, and public sector ethics experts. Its mission will be to ensure meaningful public participation, conduct research, and provide recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for the effective rollout of the reforms.

The Task Force will play a critical role in shaping how the reforms are implemented. Applications to join the Task Force will open soon, giving LA County residents the opportunity to help shape the future of governance in their community. If you are interested in applying to be a Task Force member, please submit your information below. We will notify you via the email address you provide once the online application is available.
