Information Resource Management

Information Resource Management is the computer support group for the Executive Office. The challenges for this office include keeping pace with technology, adapting to new innovations to our current environments and organizing electronic information for access by the Department and the general public. Information Resource Management contributes to the productivity and efficiency of the Department by ending our reliance on burdensome paper processes, and streamlining our operations by use of electronic technology. The office extends its support to the entire Department of the Board of Supervisors by:

  • Overseeing operations of automated and electronic work processing systems for the Executive Office and the Board of Supervisors, including over 30 customized applications used by the Executive Office and the five Board offices.
  • Planning and implementing information technology platforms for the Department, including Internet access, e-mail systems, and word and data processing applications.
  • Providing both application and desktop support for all systems used by the Department.
  • Training staff in the use of computer technology.
  • Integrating information systems with other County Departments.
