How to Register and Join the Board Meeting
Register so the host knows you’re coming
Takes about 1 minute.
Locate the Remote Participation information from BOS.LACounty.gov
• Click the link to visit the registration page.
• Click the “Register” button on the registration page.
Complete a Brief Form
• Type your first and last name.
• Type your email (check for typos!).
• Type your Phone Number (optional).
• Enter the list of items you will be speaking on
• If speaking on multiple items, please separate with
commas.
Example: 1, 2, 4, 7, 15, Public Comment
• Click ‘Register’.
• If you are registering 30 minutes prior to the start of the
meeting or during the meeting, you will see a green “Join
webinar” button you can click to join the Board Meeting.
Check Your Email for Registration Details
• Look for a message from Webex or Board Executive Office.
• Open the email and find the green “Join webinar” button.
• This email is your ticket to the Board meeting.
• To join the Board Meeting, click the green “Join webinar”
button up to 30 minutes before the start of the Board
Meeting or during the meeting.
Can’t find the email?
Check your Spam/Junk folder. Search your inbox for ‘Webex’ or BOS.
Join the Board Meeting Smoothly
Use your Join button when it’s time.
Click the “Join Webinar" button in your email or calendar
• This opens Webex in your browser.
• If asked, choose ‘Open Webex App’ or ‘Continue in browser’.
Set up your audio
• If prompted, pick your microphone and speakers/headset.
• Say ‘Hello’ to test your mic-do you see the green bars move?
Join the meeting
• Click “Next”
• Type your first and last name.
• Type your email (check for typos!).
• Click “Join Webinar"
Name mismatch?
If your screen name looks wrong, click your name and fix it so the host recognizes you. If you see ‘Waiting for host to let you in’, just stay on this screen. If the Join button fails, copy the Join link from the email and paste it in your browser.
Having audio or other technical issues?
Please ensure to grant audio access (WebEx App or browser) to use the microphone. If you have technical difficulties, you may Participate by Phone to connect to the Board meeting.
Join by Phone Audio
Use this if your internet is slow or you prefer calling.
Call in After Registering Online
Option No. 1
• Open your confirmation email.
• Find “Tap to join from a mobile device (attendees only)”
• Click the phone number and access code link in this section.
• This will automatically connect you to the Board Meeting.
Option No. 2
• Open your confirmation email.
• Call the number in the “Join by phone” section.
• Once connected, enter the “Webinar number (access code)” located
under the “Join by webinar number” section, then press #.
• Enter the Webinar password, then press #.
Call in Without Registering
• Obtain the call-in number, webinar number, and the meeting password from BOS.lacounty.gov or the Board agenda.
• Call the number to connect to the Board Meeting.
• Once connected, enter the “Webinar number”, then press #.
• Enter the “Webinar password”, then press #.
Important:
Please only join the meeting once through the WebEx app, website, or by directly calling in.
